‘White Boy Rick’ Being Made Into a Movie

The trailer for the September 2018 movie White Boy Rick was released this week. The film, starring Matthew McConaughey, is based on the true story of Richard Wershe Jr., who at age 14 was recruited by the FBI to be an informant in order to help find corrupt Detroit police officers. He was later prosecuted on non-violent drug charges and was sentenced to life behind bars because the FBI did not want to step in and admit that it was using an underage informant. Last July, Wershe was released from prison after he was granted parole from his life sentence.
