White House Expects Huntsman to Resign

Get ready for a crowded GOP field in 2012: the Obama administration is bracing for the likely resignation of John Huntsman, its ambassador to China, who will likely make a bid for the Republican presidential nomination. Though he has no direct involvement, friends and supporters of the former Utah governor have been making plans and have created a PAC to raise money should Huntsman decide to run. Huntsman has avoided discussing 2012 openly, but made clear to Sen. John McCain in a meeting over the holidays that he's ready to run now, not in 2016.
