The Secret Service has locked down the White House in response to protests against police violence underway in nearby Lafayette Square, according to multiple reports. Video showed protesters gathering by the dozens and law enforcement detaining at least one person in a yelling crowd. Protests over George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis police custody reached a fever pitch around the country Thursday night and continued Friday.
