Apparently the White House can refuse a subpoena? The White House counsel said Friday that Congress’s subpoenas regarding the Solyndra failure are “driven more by partisan politics than a legitimate effort to conduct a responsible investigation.” House Republicans are investigating the energy’s firm’s collapse, which occurred after receiving a loan from the Obama administration—money that will most likely be lost in Solyndra’s bankruptcy filing. The White House counsel did, however, note that it would be “willing to work with the committee to accommodate its legitimate oversight interests in a balanced manner.”
