Let’s hope it’s smoother sailing than health-care reform: White House adviser Austan Goolsbee tells The Huffington Post that financial regulatory reform will be the administration’s next priority. "The president has been pretty clear that when health care is done he wants financial regulatory reform, the holding accountable of financial institutions, and now he's setting the stage,” Goolsbee said. When asked about specifics, Goolsbee said that President Obama wants to create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency, even though Senator Chris Dodd recently floated dropping the idea. The agency would help protect consumers from credit-card, mortgage, and financial-product abuses.
