Whitman, Fiorina All but Done

That just about does it for the Republican candidates in California: Three new polls on Wednesday show gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman trailing by eight, nine, and 11 points, while other polls show Senate candidate Carly Fiorina trailing by anywhere from four to nine points. Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight says Whitman has just a 6 percent chance of defeating Jerry Brown; he says Fiorina has just an 8 percent chance of unseating Barbara Boxer.
