The World Health Organization now says people returning home from areas where the Zika virus is spreading should either practice abstinence or protected sex for at least eight weeks. The new advisory was issued after leading scientists discovered the mosquito-borne virus remains in one’s bloodstream and other fluids longer than originally thought.
