Whoopi Goldberg Goes Full Conspiracy Brain on Trump-Musk Feud

FAKE NEWS

“I do believe it’s fake,” the “View” host said.

Whoopi Goldberg believes that Donald Trump’s fallout with Elon Musk was all “fake.”

On The View Monday, the co-hosts discussed the big, beautiful breakup during their “Hot Topics” segment. As Alyssa Farah Griffin, Trump’s former White House Communications Director, argued that Trump was most likely to win the public spat since he threatened to “go after Elon’s Pentagon contracts,” Goldberg said, “I love that y’all bought into it.”

“I do believe it’s fake. Yes, I do. It’s too strategic,” Goldberg explained. “I just feel like, oh, suddenly everybody’s upset about stuff? I’m sorry, no.”

She went on, “This is another distraction to keep us talking. Not about the stuff we’re talking about, but the stuff they want us to. I’m not buying it. I’m not buying it because they lie.”

The president and his former first buddy traded blows online in the spectacular fallout this past week, reaching a crescendo when Musk accused Trump of being named in the Jeffrey Epstein files.

It all started after Musk criticized Trump’s so-called “big, beautiful bill” days after officially cutting ties with the White House and the its cost-cutting agency DOGE. Declaring he “can’t take it anymore,” Musk unleashed a takedown of the “disgusting abomination” of a bill on X, which he said would “burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.”

The View hosts have spent much of their “Hot Topics” airtime criticizing Musk for his role in Trump’s dismantling of government agencies and axing thousands of government jobs, to supposedly save taxpayers money. However, analysts found that DOGE cost taxpayers almost as it much as it cut, according to CBS News.

Goldberg was skeptical that Musk had a real change of heart after leaving the White House. “I don’t believe anything they say anymore because they have shown themselves not to be the most trustworthy people you want,” she said on Monday.

“It’s not fake,” Griffin insisted, “You’re giving him too much credit.”

Perhaps to Goldberg’s point, Musk was back to boosting Trump on Monday, resharing a screenshot on X of the president’s Truth Social post claiming L.A. has been “invaded and occupied by illegal aliens and criminals,” as the protests and riots against federal immigration raids in the city continue.
