The love doctor is back. Fox has won a bidding war for the rights to turn Will Smith’s 2005 romantic comedy Hitch into a TV series. Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment will produce the show, and Pete Chiarelli, who penned The Proposal, will write the hour-long episodes. This is the second TV iteration for Hitch, following an earlier effort to turn the movie into a half-hour TV comedy at CBS, which never materialized.
