The Hollywood Reporter says that Will Smith is likely to land the lead role in Quentin Tarantino’s next film, the spaghetti western Django Unchained. Christoph Waltz, the breakout star of Tarantino’s last film, Inglourious Basterds, has already signed up to play the sidekick to what would be Smith’s role as a slave who tries to rescue his wife from a plantation owner. Smith has not starred in a film since 2008’s Seven Pounds, but is still considered one of Hollywood’s top two or three box office draws.
