Winning Dog Breeds at Westminster, from Dalmatian to Terrier

America’s next top pooch will be crowned tomorrow at the Westminster Dog Show, but The Daily Beast combed the history books to find the event’s all-time champions.

Forget Eli Manning and Tom Brady. We’re talking about Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction and Foxcliffe Hickory Wind. Yes, the Super Bowl for canophiles—the Westminster Dog Show—kicks off today at Madison Square Garden.

For the second year in a row, The Daily Beast wanted to find which breeds can lay claim as the winningest of all time. We updated our 135 years of data of Westminster results with last years’ winners to figure out which breeds historically perform the best across the board, in overall and group wins. To find out Westminster’s best breeds, we again used the following points system:

Best in Show: 10 points
First place, group: 5 points
Second place, group: 3 points
Third place, group: 2 points
Fourth place, group: 1 point
