Portions of Wisconsin's voter ID law are unconstitutional, a federal judge ruled Friday. U.S. District Judge James Peterson ruled that portions of the voter law had been crafted "to suppress the reliably Democratic vote of Milwaukee's African-Americans." Peterson's ruling follows an earlier Friday ruling that found North Carolina's voter ID laws unconstitutional for overtly suppressing the African-American vote.
