A pregnant woman in the Bronx was fatally stabbed by another woman Friday who cut a baby girl out of the victim’s womb. The infant, who survived and was named Genesis after being taken to a nearby hospital, was “surgically removed by the perpetrator,” officials said. Her mother, 22-year-old Angelikque Sutton, was allegedly strangled and stabbed to death by Ashleigh Wade, also 22. Wade was an old schoolmate of Sutton’s, according to a relative of Sutton’s who spoke to the New York Daily News. Authorities found the child in Wade’s apartment in Wakefield, New York after Wade’s boyfriend walked in and called 911.
