Woman Loses Suit Over Black Donor Sperm

A white woman who was accidentally impregnated with the sperm of a black man had her lawsuit against the sperm bank tossed out by an Illinois judge Thursday. Jennifer Cramblett filed a claim against Midwest Sperm Bank in 2014 after she was given sperm from the wrong donor and gave birth to a mixed-race daughter she feared would grow up an “outcast” in their predominantly white community. DuPage County judge Ronald Sutter tossed out the case, saying it lacked legal merit as a wrongful birth claim. Cramblette will refile the suit as a negligence claim instead.
