Officials at JFK airport searched a woman who claimed she was three months pregnant, and found $20,000 worth of heroin in her intestinal tract last Wednesday. Afolake Awoyemi arrived from Paris on Air France Flight 6 wearing a “loose-fitting dress” when she was pulled aside by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. They felt a “bulge” in her groin during a pat-down search and was subjected to a partial strip-search, when the heroin was discovered. It was determined that Awoyemi was carrying 25 pellets of heroin worth about $20,000. A pregnancy test administered at a medical facility came back negative.
