On March 27, Mississippi is set to execute Michelle Byrom, 57, for killing her husband, even though her son has already admitted multiple times to the murder. Edward Byrom, Jr. testified against her in her capital murder trial, claiming she hired his friend as a hitman to kill his father. However, jurors never saw the letters he sent to his mother detailing how he killed his father, nor did they hear from the psychologist who says he described killing his father. Byrom Jr. was sentenced to 30 years in jail for conspiring to commit capital murder, but is now free on earned supervised release.
