A relief? Wyclef Jean is no longer in the running for Haiti’s presidential election in November, according to an electoral official. The reason for Jean’s snubbing: The celebrity singer-songwriter did not fully meet the requirements, including the fact that he doesn’t have a primary residence in Haiti. “He is not on the list as I speak,” an electoral official told Reuters. Thirty-four contenders, including Jean, filed documents to run for the Haitian presidency this month. Jean has yet to make an official comment.
