Yale University has lifted the lockdown everywhere except Old Campus and Calhoun College after police and SWAT teams searched residential areas room by room. The lockdown came after sightings of a gunman on campus by two witnesses, but police now say that there is a possibility that individuals with the long guns were law enforcement responding to the scene. Witnesses reported seeing someone on a roof, but that individual was only smoking a cigarette according to the police. Law enforcement said no shots have been fired, and nobody is in custody. The police were responding to an emergency call from an anonymous man at a pay phone at 9:48 AM who said his roommate said he was on his way to Yale with the intention of shooting people.
