YouTube Cuts Ties With PewDiePie

YouTube is severing ties with video producer PewDiePie over his alleged inclusion of anti-Semitic content in his recent videos. The website took action specifically to remove a video in which there was a sign that read “Death to all Jews.” YouTube canceled the second season of PewDiePie’s show, which has 53 million subscribers, and removed it from a premium section of the site. He will still benefit from YouTube’s advertising scheme, though. YouTube’s decision to sanction PewDiePie comes after Disney-owned Maker Studios dropped him. In a blog post over the weekend, PewDiePie said he does not support Nazis and acknowledged that the imagery displayed in the videos was “ultimately offensive.”
