Something is rotten in the state of Afghanistan. President Hamid Karzai accused the Taliban of using a 12-year-old boy as a suicide bomber in an attack that occurred on Sunday in Paktika province, south of the country's capital. Karzai said the attack was aimed at civilians, and called the use of a child suicide bomber un-Islamic and inhumane. The bombing killed four people and wounded 12. The attack occurred on the designated day of the Taliban's "spring offensive." On Saturday the group warned civilians to avoid large gatherings and military centers. Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, has claimed responsibility for the bombing on behalf of his tribe. The bombing sparked rebel clashes with police and NATO-led troops across the country, which resulted in the deaths of five civilians and two policemen.
