Anti-Trump Protests Turn Violent Again

Tactical police mobilized outside the California Republican state convention on Friday after protesters broke through a barricade and attempted to storm the Bay Area hotel where the party was set to meet along with primary frontrunner Donald Trump. Video from the protests show police pushing back activists who breached the gate, a few being struck down by batons as they were detained. Trump reportedly had to complete his trip to the venue on foot because of fears about the tense protests at the entrance to the hotel. Anti-Trump protests Thursday evening in Orange County also turned violent, with as many as 20 people being arrested and protesters smashing police cruisers.
