Oh, Bey. NASA is calling Beyoncé “insensitive” after she used audio from the doomed space shuttle Challenger in her new song “XO.” Beyoncé, for her part, told ABC News on Monday that “XO” was “recorded with the sincerest intention to help heal those who have lost loved ones and remind us that unexpected things happen, so love and appreciate every minute you have with those who mean the most to you.” The Challenger exploded shortly after liftoff from the Kennedy Space Center on January 28, 1986. All seven crew members on board were killed. June Scobee Rodgers, the widow of Challenger Space Shuttle Commander Dick Scobee, said she is “disappointed” in Beyoncé for using the audio from the wreck in the song.
