Hundreds of residents have been forced to flee their homes after a wildfire burned for a second day through 13,500 acres in Northern California, officials said Thursday. Firefighters were on the ground and air tankers were working to put out the flames, which destroyed three homes and damaged multiple outbuildings in an area northeast of Napa Valley, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said. Authorities instructed around 650 residents to evacuate the area. The massive blaze is one of 14 large wildfires burning in California, which has required the assistance of nearly 7,000 firefighters.
