Major League Baseball is investigating domestic-violence allegations against Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman, jeopardizing a trade deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Yahoo Sports reported late Monday. Chapman allegedly fired eight gunshots at his Miami home after an October argument with his girlfriend, who told police he “choked” her and pushed her against a wall, according to the Yahoo Sports report. No arrests were made in the incident. The Reds were believed to have traded Chapman to the Dodgers on Monday until news of the incident delayed the deal, sources told Yahoo. The Reds declined to comment on the alleged incident. Speaking on behalf of Chapman, lawyer Jay Reisinger said, “We vehemently deny the allegations as stated. Beyond that, we have no further comment at this time.”
