A special prosecutor announced Monday that no one will face criminal charges in connection to the death of a black woman found dead inside a southeast Texas county jail last summer. Darrell Jorden said the Waller County grand jury will reconvene Jan. 6 to discuss other matters related to the case, including whether the trooper that arrested 28-year-old Sandra Bland should face charges. Trooper Brian Encinia pulled the Chicago native over for a traffic stop on July 10. Dashboard-camera footage showed the two in a confrontation before she was arrested and taken to the Waller County jail, where three days later she was found dead inside a jail cell. Investigators said she hanged herself, but relatives have been suspicious about police findings. This is the third time the grand jury has met with five appointed special prosecutors to review evidence.
