Three people were killed and at least 40 injured in the eastern Turkish city of Van late Wednesday after attackers detonated a car bomb outside a police station. Mehmet Parlak, the city’s governor, said 38 of those wounded were civilians, and two were police officers. The three people killed were civilians, he said, pinning blame for the attack on the Kurdistan Workers Party, which has been accused of carrying out almost daily attacks on Turkish security forces in recent months. Parlak said the attacker had survived the bombing and was detained by police for questioning, the Anadolu news agency reported. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
