Chief Rabbi of Argentina ‘Savagely’ Attacked in His Own Home: Report

Rabbi Gabriel Davidovich is reportedly hospitalized with “serious injuries” after assailants broke in and beat him.

The Chief Rabbi of Argentina, Rabbi Gabriel Davidovich, was reportedly beaten in his home in the early hours of Monday morning and left with “serious injuries.” According to The Jerusalem Post, AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires issued a statement announcing that Davidovich had been “beaten and savagely attacked by a group of strangers who entered his house” at 2:00 a.m. Monday. Davidovich’s wife was reportedly “tied up” after the assailants broke in, and they stole money and other possessions from the home. While they were robbing the property, the burglars reportedly told Davidovich that they knew he was the rabbi at AMIA. Davidovich is reportedly in the hospital with a serious injury from the attack.
