Comedian Bill Burr Sounds Off on ‘Idiot’ Elon Musk’s ‘Sieg Heil’

NO HOLDING BACK

He also had some very strong words for Democrats who he thinks are giving Musk a pass.

Bill Burr blasted “that idiot” Elon Musk and his “laminated face” in a new interview on Monday, in which he also criticized liberals who have “no teeth” in dealing with the Tesla CEO.

Speaking on NPR’s Fresh Air, Burr shut down the notion that Musk’s hand gesture at Donald Trump’s inauguration was anything but a “Sieg Heil,” and accused Democratic lawmakers of rolling over in the face of “neo-nazism.”

“I refuse to believe that it was an accidental two times Sieg Heil,” Burr ranted. “And he does it at a presidential inauguration!” Musk has pushed back on the Nazi interpretation of his gesture, posting and replying to clips of others waving in similar fashion on X.

Burr has been vocal about Musk’s hand gesture since it happened. He shared on his Monday Morning podcast that last month that he received an email notifying him his X account had been “flagged for inappropriate” content after he “made fun of the f---ing Twitter guy for f---ing Sieg Heiling not once but twice.”

“I don’t even tweet anymore,” he continued then, calling Musk a “f---ing baby. Just like Hitler, a f---ing baby.”

But within moments of his newest Musk rant on Monday, Burr had shifted his rage elsewhere. “This is why I hate liberals. It’s like liberals have no teeth whatsoever,” he continued, verbally whacking both Dems and Musk in his rant. “They just go, ‘Oh my God, can you believe this? I’m getting out of the country!’” he said in a mocking voice. “I’m just like, you’re gonna leave the country? Because of one guy with dyed hair plugs and a laminated face who makes a bad car and has an obsolete social media platform?”

Musk, who Burr said “evidently is a Nazi,” should be the one to go. “Why doesn’t he leave? Why isn’t he stopped? Why are we so afraid of this guy who can’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag? Why do liberals just sit back and... they have nothing,” he continued, echoing other commentators who called out the Dems’ for holding paddles in protest during Trump’s recent address to Congress.

Fresh Air host Terry Gross pushed back, asking Burr, “What are you doing?” to combat Musk—to which he replied, “this,” meaning “speaking up about it.”

He added, however, “First of all, I’m a stand-up comedian. It’s not my friggin’ job. I’m talking about Democratic politicians. Where is their pushback?” Burr said that to him, the party’s lack of action indicates they’re only “allegedly liberal.”

The comedian is equally harsh about those on the far-right, including commentator Ben Shapiro who called Burr “woke” in February. Burr fired back, calling him a “j--- off,” in an interview with the New York Times: “All he knew is if he put ‘woke’ on what I said, he would make more money,” Burr said at the time.

Burr added on Monday that people are attacking comedians amid “cancel culture” with more vigor than they are Musk and the rising neo-Nazism in America. “You can get canceled as a comedian for doing a frigging Caitlyn Jenner joke,” he continued, “But this a--hole can Sieg Heil and nothing.”
