Time Warner, 21st Century Fox, and Lionsgate are among the major film production companies who joined Disney and Viacom on Thursday in protest of Georgia's recently passed anti-LGBT legislation. The state's so-called "religious liberty" law has been called discriminatory and anti-gay, and the studios have banded together to send a message to Gov. Nathan Deal that they will withhold doing business in his state—which houses a burgeoning film industry—unless he vetoes the legislation. One of the more explicit boycott threats came from The Weinstein Company, which said it will move the production of an upcoming big-budget Richard Pryor biopic out of Georgia if the bill is signed into law.
