Republicans are not cool with plans by CNN and NBC to produce and run specials on 2016 Democratic possible Hillary Clinton. And they plan to voice their displeasure today with an RNC vote on a nonbinding resolution that would tighten the party’s control over the debate process, including the networks and moderators allowed to participate in the events, specifically excluding the two networks. The not-yet-made films, the resolution claims, “are an attempt to show political favoritism and put a thumb on the scales for the next presidential election.” It continues, “Airing this programming will jeopardize will the credibility of CNN and NBC as supposedly unbiased news networks and undermine the perceived objectivity of the coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign by these networks.” The Republicans aren’t the only group taking issue with the programs, journalists at the networks are also expressing reservations.
