Half New Drivers in CA Are Undocumented

More than half the new driver’s licenses issued by California this year have been earned by undocumented immigrants, according to the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles. A total of 883,000 licenses were issued from January to the end of July; 443,000 of them were granted to undocumented immigrants. California, which is home to 40 percent of all undocumented immigrants in the country, began issuing licenses to them this year.
