Louis C.K. Performs First Set Since Admitting to Sexual Misconduct

Louis C.K. reportedly made a surprise appearance at a Greenwich Village comedy club Monday night, his first time taking the stage since he admitted to sexual misconduct last year. The comedian did a 15-minute set at the Comedy Cellar at around 11 p.m. and delivered “typical Louis C.K. stuff,” the club’s owner, Noam Dworman, told The New York Times. “I had thought that the first time he’d go on would be in a more controlled environment. But he decided to just rip the Band-Aid off,” Dworman was quoted as saying. He said the crowd greeted Louis C.K. with a standing ovation before he’d even begun his set, though one audience member later called to complain. The comedian admitted to sexual misconduct after five women spoke out against him last fall, and the scandal resulted in the cancellation of his film I Love You, Daddy.
