A car bomb that was detonated Friday at a police headquarters in a Turkish town close to the Syrian border killed 11 officers and wounded an additional 78 people. Four of the wounded in Cizre were hospitalized in critical condition, according to a state official. Footage showed smoke billowing from the site, which had been largely reduced to rubble. The town is located in the largely Kurdish southeast area of the country. The attack was blamed on the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), but nobody had yet claimed responsibility.
