German authorities say they are “dismayed and furious” over a fatal attack on two German women at an Egyptian beach on Friday. An Egyptian man stabbed the two female tourists to death on a popular beach on the Red Sea, and four others were injured in the incident. A spokesman for Germany’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday said the incident “ was a deliberate attack on foreign tourists—a particularly devious and criminal act that leaves us sad, dismayed and furious.” A security manager at the El Palacio hotel, where the incident occurred, was cited by the BBC saying the other injured tourists included two Armenian and two Czech citizens. “He was looking for foreigners and he didn't want any Egyptians,” another member of staff was quoted as saying. The attacker, who was restrained by hotel staff and arrested, is currently being questioned to determine his motives.
