U.S. Meets With North Korea

After a series of hints from North Korea about resuming six-party talks about its nuclear program, U.S. officials met North Korean representatives in New York in an attempt to gauge their seriousness. Neither side said much about the meetings: North Korea called the atmosphere "good" while the U.S. said it was "business-like." Negotiations with North Korea over its nuclear program have been stalled since 2009, but a meeting two weeks ago between North and South Korean leaders in Bali signaled that the authoritarian country may be ready to resume talks.
