The 20-year-old man suspected of killing five people at a Washington state mall Friday evening admitted responsibility to detectives, KING-TV Seattle reported Monday afternoon. According to court documents obtained by the NBC affiliate, Arcan Cetin, a Turkish-born immigrant to the United States, had a recent falling out with his father and had not been seen by his family for several hours before he emerged at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, where he allegedly shot and killed five people. Cetin’s mother is reported to have confirmed to detectives that it was her son seen in surveillance footage from the shopping center, and several of Cetin’s co-workers at a local gym identified him as the shooter. Appearing Monday morning in court, Cetin was charged with five counts of premeditated murder in the first degree.
