Wheelchair User Greg Abbott Responds to Jasmine Crockett’s ‘Governor Hot Wheels’ Jibe

‘ANOTHER DISASTER’

The Democratic congresswoman made the comments about the Texas governor at an event over the weekend.

Greg Abbott spoke out after Rep. Jasmine Crockett called him “Governor Hot Wheels,” saying the Democrats have “nothing to sell but hate.”

Crockett made the comment about the Texas governor onstage at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles, drawing sharp criticism—especially from conservatives.

Abbott, who has been in a wheelchair since an accident in his mid 20s, appeared on Hannity to respond to Crockett.

“Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there,” the Texas Democratic congresswoman said. “And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot a-- mess, honey.”

Abbott has used a wheelchair since an accident in his mid-20s.

Crockett now faces the threat of congressional censure but has since claimed in an X post that she “wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition” when she made the apparent jibe.

The governor appeared Monday night on Fox NewsHannity to respond to Crockett, telling host Sean Hannity that her comments constitute “another day and another disaster by the Democrats.”

“The reality is they have no vision, no policy. They have nothing to sell but hate. And Americans are not buying it. It’s one reason why Texas is going to remain red, and why Republicans are going to continue to win elections across the country,” he told Hannity.

“We will just leave them in the dust in future elections,” Abbott added, after listing Republican successes in Texas.

Opening the interview, Hannity raged: “You are a personal friend of mine. I take it personally when friends of mine are attacked viciously for no reason, and there’s no way in hell that this woman and her X post is going to convince me that she meant anything other than what we all believe it to be.”

In Crockett’s X response, she claimed there was no wheelchair jibe. She said: “I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable.

“Literally, the next line I said was that he was a ‘Hot A** Mess,’ referencing his terrible policies. At no point did I mention or allude to his condition. So, I’m even more appalled that the very people who unequivocally support Trump—a man known for racially insensitive nicknames and mocking those with disabilities—are now outraged."

She added in a later message that she thinks the reaction to the comment is a “distraction” tactic from Republicans.

“Keep that same energy for all people, not just your political adversaries,” she said. “Finally, this is yet another distraction. Instead of obsessing over and hanging on to my every word, maybe my political foes should focus on doing the work of the people who elected us to improve their lives.”

It comes after the MAGAverse, and Hannity, raged against Crockett for comments about Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), whom she said should be “knocked over the head, like hard.”

Crockett drew the ire of Attorney General Pam Bondi when she voiced her support for #TeslaTakedown, a group organizing nonviolent protests against Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company.

Bondi suggested the congresswoman contributed to the violence against Tesla dealerships. She told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo that the congresswoman needed to “tread very carefully.” She then repeated her warning later on Hannity. Crockett said she had never “promoted violence whatsoever.”
