The first year of marijuana legalization in Colorado resulted in massive sales: the state sold 20 tons of recreational pot in 2014, including nearly 3 million edibles, and made $63 million in tax revenue on the $699 million worth of medical and recreational users. Colorado was the first state to allow sales of non-medicinal weed, beginning in January last year, and has since been followed by Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and D.C.
