Negotiating directly with Iran over its nuclear program was supposed to be one of Obama's biggest breaks with the Bush administration, but the US and Iran are still both hesitant to come to the table immediately. Representatives of both sides were at the Munich Security Conference this weekend, with Vice President Joe Biden delivering a speech warning of "pressure and isolation" on Iran if it walked away from talks. Iranian officials, for their part, sought to refight old battles and demand formal apologies for decades of alleged wrongdoing. Nonetheless, a senior EU official told the Associated Press that the Iranians are interested in the US offer to talk.
