The Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at George W. Bush—instantly becoming a folk hero across the Muslim world and minor celebrity on YouTube—will face up to 15 years for assaulting a foreign leader when he stands trial on February 19. Muntader al-Zaidi's family says he has been tortured in prison and denied access to his lawyers. Al-Zaidi's much-watched trial will be a high-profile test of Iraq's still new judicial system. Public and media accessibility for the al-Zaidi trial remains unknown.
