Sarah Palin's hosting chops aren't the problem with her Fox News Channel special, Real American Stories—the New York Daily News says the production is the real sticking point. The show features inspirational stories about people such as a serviceman who covered a grenade in Iraq with his helmet, a family dealing with a kid with cerebral palsy, and a woman who pulled a man from a flaming wreck. The people featured may be compelling, but the problem is the show's format. Palin does voiceovers over interviews performed by others and then chats with the profile subjects in front of a live studio audience, which "gives the production the feel of a telethon, without the pitch for money," the Daily News said.
