The reviews for Eat Pray Love are in—and the response is resoundingly positive. Andrew Roberts of Salon.com writes that Julia Roberts “gives a nice performance here, ranging from brassy to vulnerable to drunkenly flirtatious.” As for the major worry (i.e., what devout fans of Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir will think), The Washington Post’s Ann Hornaday writes, “The film’s most crucial constituency—the book’s rabid fans—are likely to feel well served by [director Ryan] Murphy's adaptation, which hews pretty faithfully to Gilbert’s story.” Seemingly, Eat Pray Love is more than just a chick flick. The movie is, as Roger Moore in the Orlando Sentinel puts it, “a guilty pleasure.”
