At least 29 people were killed and 111 more were injured following two massive car bomb explosions in Baghdad on Sunday morning, according to officials from Iraq’s interior ministry. Ten were killed and 58 wounded when a bomb blew up a minibus outside a main office of the Asiacell mobile phone company, according to police. Then, 19 more were killed and 53 wounded when a car bomb exploded at an intersection in the Kadhimiya neighborhood in northwestern Baghdad. The blasts happened around 10:15 a.m. and most of the victims were civilians. There has been a recent spike in explosions in Iraq, with many attributing the acts of violence to political uncertainty related to the country’s ability to form a government.
