Halloween may be the holiday to celebrate bad taste, but this takes it to a new low: Employees of a “foreclosure mill” law firm in New York, which represents giant banks like Citigroup and JPMorgan, dressed up as the newly homeless they are evicting from their homes. The Steven J. Baum firm has been under investigation for illegal eviction tactics. Last year, employees decorated their office with mock foreclosure signs and dressed as squatters, homeless vagrants, and evicted homeowners. A former employee sent the photos to The New York Times because she found the firm’s behavior “appalling.”
