Mitt Romney kicked off his "Listen and Learn" overseas tour Thursday with a visit to London to meet with British political leaders such as Labour Party leader Ed Miliband and former Prime Minister Tony Blair. Later, he got a personal tour of an Olympics exhibit from William Hague, the British Foreign Secretary. The Republican U.S. presidential hopeful praised Britain for having "sacrificed enormously" in helping bring peace to Afghanistan. He also made an effort to keep his negative thoughts about the U.S. government—and any other government for that matter, to himself—perhaps taking a hint from the time he broke the "No Bad Mouthing the President While He's Overseas" rule when Obama was traveling abroad. After London, Romney will hit up Israel and Poland as part of his mission to improve public perception of his foreign-policy experience.
