Papa is on a crusade for the kids. Pope Francis is urging the United States and Mexico to protect the thousands of unaccompanied children attempting to cross from Central America. “Such a humanitarian emergency demands as a first urgent measure that these minors be protected and duly taken in,” he said in a letter to regional representatives. The pontiff wrote of the dangerous conditions the children cross in, and asked the international community to "adopt new immigration measures that are legal and safe." Last week, President Obama requested $3.7 billion from Congress to move the minors through the immigration system.
