University of Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota was awarded the 2014 Heisman Trophy on Saturday night, making him Oregon's first winner of the coveted college football honor. The junior was the favorite to win, given his accuracy in passing and running speed, and he won double the points as runner-up Melvin Gordon of Wisconsin. Amari Cooper of Alabama was third. Mariota also won the second-highest number of points (90.92) in Heisman history, second only to Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith (91.63) in 2006.
