The Supreme Court has effectively decided to block a strict new Arizona abortion law. The highest court in the land declined to review a challenge to a federal appeals court ruling that had halted the law’s enforcement. In 2012, Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law a restriction that would have imposed an additional clinic visit and other requirements on women who chose the non-surgical abortion method and the clinics that supplied them. With the Supreme Court’s decision not to review the challenge, the law is rendered ineffective and the medication-abortion restriction doesn’t hold.
