Former energy executive Aubrey McClendon, 56, died in a car crash Wednesday, just one day after he was charged with conspiring to rig bids for oil and natural gas leases. McClendon reportedly crashed into an Oklahoma City embankment while traveling a "high rate of speed," according to authorities. His car subsequently exploded into flames. According to his indictment, McClendon allegedly conspired between 2007 and 2012 to decide who would win the energy bids, and then giving an interest in the leases to another company.
