North Korea test-fired a submarine-based ballistic missile on Saturday, South Korea said, denouncing the DPRK’s action as “provocative behavior.” U.S. Strategic Command confirmed the launch, which occurred “off the coast of Sinpo,” a city in the country’s east. While the launch itself was deemed a success, South Korea said the early stages were less so. The incident comes just a day after the south and the U.S. agreed to set up a defense mechanism that would intercept North Korea’s missiles. Soutb Korea calls it a “defensive measure.”
